We’re experts in the field of high volume transactions and, at present, Alphatec provide ongoing, 24 hour support for 25% of the UK’s daily cheque clearing operation, with over 5,000,000 cheques and credits processed each day.
Our services include providing support for software created by developers such as IBM and EDS, as well as supplying our own products. Our information management software, Insight Reporter, for instance, is used by banks to pull together and analyse data from the different sources at their disposal, giving decision makers stronger grounds for implementing their strategies.
As well as supplying software and support, we also have a track record of success with on-site consultancy, having provided the service to Barclays’ technical team on a number of banking projects.
Insurance
Alphatec’s web-hosted cloud application, ClaimControl is used by insurance brokers and risk managers throughout the UK, US, Europe and Australia to record and analyse incidents within their companies, helping them to identify, and then eliminate costs generated by uninsured losses.
The system has won Strategic Risk’s ‘Risk Management Product of the Year’ award and is used by the £50 million pound infrastructure maintenance company, Crowley of the VolkerWessels group, who identified it as a leading factor in reducing their risk related costs.
In addition, our online system, Time Box, which helps professionals improve profitability by analysing exactly how their time is used in service of each of their clients, has proved to be extremely useful in the insurance broker sector, especially in the light of recent industry changes.
Local Government
Branches of local government face a huge range of areas where they might be held liable to pay damages, from straight forward accidents, to failures to respond to queries made under the Freedom of Information Act within a certain time frame. Given the diverse nature of the risks they face, and with pressure on public budgets extremely high, bodies such as Milton Keynes Council find the insight offered by ClaimControl invaluable in minimising their losses.

The firm use our ClaimControl software, which we modified for their specific requirements, to both track and analyse all their insurance claims.
